>>Mentor Schools offers a multitude of specialized services with certified
faculty members to meet the needs of all students. This includes speech
language services, occupational services, physical therapist services, school
psychologist services, behavioral specialist services, guidance counselors,
special educators, and gifted teachers.
>>The district's transportation department operates a fleet of school buses
that covers nearly a million miles a year in routes & trips and our nutrition
services department provides more than 580,000 healthy meals for students
each year.
>> Mentor Schools offers a state-of-theart specialized school for students with
autism, known as CARES (Cardinal
Autism Research and Education School).
CARES also serves as an alternative
revenue source as we are able to provide
special education services for
out-of-district students.
A variety of services provide options to ensure all students receive individualized instruction, enrichment and support.
Student Services
>> 86% of Mentor Schools9 teachers have earned a Master9s Degree
LEAGUE OF INNOVATIVESCHOOLS or higher as part of their continuing education. Dozens more are
currently working toward their Master9s Degree.

of Innovative Schools. Our district was one of
the first selected to represent the State of
Ohio. Since then, the league has grown into a
coalition of 165 forward-thinking school
districts providing collaboration opportunities
for educators to continue working to find ways
to bring new and exciting innovative
instructional practices to life in classrooms

STRAIGHT A FUND GRANT
>> The Straight A Fund grant was the largest grant ever earned in the
district9s history (2014) and its lasting impact remains evident today.
The Straight A Fund grant provided funds for the following projects:
renovating the Mentor High School media center, now called The Hub;
building a 16,000 square foot professional development center called
Paradigm; renovating more than 65 Mentor High School classrooms;
and provided devices (at the time) for all students in grades 9-12.
>> Mentor9s IT (Information and Instructional Technology) Team
supports all departments to maximize the use of technology in
the district. The IT Team works in coordination with the Curriculum Department by integrating technology into the curriculum to
increase academic opportunities for all of our students. IT also
works closely with Student Services, Human Resources, Business
Operations, the Treasurer's Office and the Transportation Department to make sure each staff member and student has what they
need (whether hardware or software) to be successful. Below is a
glimpse of some of the hardware and software the IT department
is responsible for maintaining each and every day:
