Our district9s academic programs provide opportunities for all students to reach their full potential.
PROGRAM OF STUDIES
Advanced Placement Courses
Mentor High School offers more than 240 courses for students and each
of our middle schools has more than 50 courses available for students.
Elementary school curriculum is focused on the subjects of English
Language Arts (ELA), math, science, and social studies. Elementary
students are also assigned to take four related arts classes (art, physical
education, music, and STEAM) as part of our commitment to providing
a well-rounded, high-quality education for all.
Mentor High School continues to offer a robust array of College
Board Advanced Placement courses for students to take and many
earn college credit with their high test scores. In fact, during the
2025-2026 school year, more than 600 Mentor High students
(grades 10-12) were enrolled in at least one AP course. Nearly
1,400 AP exams were taken and 89% of those exams resulted in a
score of 3 or higher. Impressive! Available courses listed here:

High school students can apply to take one of 19 Career Tech
programs offered. Many of the programs are two year courses
where students gain valuable experience working in a hands-on,
real-world environment in a field they are interested in pursuing
for their professional careers. Students can also earn college
credit through our outstanding career tech courses. You can learn
more about these courses later in this report.
College Credit Plus (CCP) & Dual Credits
Students have the opportunity to take CCP courses to earn up to
30 college credits for the year, while simultaneously earning high
school credit. In conjunction with Lakeland Community College,
our students can take the following college courses without even
leaving campus! College Composition I, College Composition II,
College Algebra, Trigonometry, Basic Economics, U.S. National
Government, Psychology, Introduction to Paralegal Studies,
Effective Public Speaking, Business Issues in Law, American Sign
Language Level I and American Sign Language Level II. Students
may take other CCP courses off campus at a local college or
online.
Balanced Learning & 1:1 Device Initiative
All of our students in grades Kindergarten through grade 12 are
issued a device to use in school and at home as part of the
district9s balanced learning approach to academics. Mentor
Schools provides a balanced education for students by focusing
on high quality instruction that meets the needs of today9s
diverse learners. Our teachers work hard to create classroom
environments that foster collaboration and critical thinking
skills to set our students up for success!
