Student Activities
Make a Difference Day! With the support of their
teachers, 8th grade students left their classrooms
behind for a day and found out how they can make
a positive impact in the world around them through
volunteer work. From visiting folks and being a
friend at various locations to rolling up their sleeves
to cook and clean, it was a great day for all!
Student activities
>> The 2024325 school year, proved to be a great one for our Mentor High School athletes, with some outstanding
accomplishments and even many of our teams and individuals qualifying for the state level of
competition! Congratulations to Boys Cross Country for qualifying as a team for the state competition! Individuals
from Boys Cross Country as well as Boys & Girls Wrestling, Girls & Boys Track, Gymnastics and Boys
Tennis also made it to state competition and several teams earned league and district champions titles last year!
>> Having a large number of students enrolled in the district provides an
opportunity to offer many curricular and extracurricular activities, including
sports and clubs, for students of all ages.
>> Mentor High School9s athletic department runs 25 Varsity sports teams, 20
Junior Varsity teams, and 10 freshman teams. Our teams regularly win conference and district titles.
>> Each of the middle schools has approximately 15 sports teams for students.
>> Mentor High School and our middle schools are home to very successful
Science Olympiad teams. In 2025, all of our SO teams qualified for Ohio9s State
Science Olympiad Competition! Go CARDS!
Cardboard Canoe Challenge 3 Field Trip!
Mentor High School students took on the Cardboard Canoe
Challenge, putting their creativity, teamwork, and problemsolving skills to the test. Using only cardboard and ingenuity,
teams designed canoes to see if their ideas would sink or float.
Some boats stayed afloat, while others provided memorable
splash landings. But every outcome meant learning 4 testing
ideas, adjusting designs, and discovering that failure is just part
of the engineering process. Hands-on experiences like this help
students think critically, collaborate, and apply classroom
learning in real-world ways. Now that9s learning that stays
