Career Technical Educa琀椀on & Career Academies
As part of its new Strategic Plan Big Moves Goals, Mentor Schools made the decision
to become its own Comprehensive Career technical Educa琀椀on provider, rather
than partnering with other districts in a compact. This will be phased in over the
next year and will help keep our students o昀昀 of waitlists by opening more seats
here at home. With the help of community partnerships, we’re able to expand
our o昀昀erings to include a diverse array of engaging career-focused programs.
While some of these courses are familiar and others are new - we’re calling them
all Career Academies. The update is exci琀椀ng because it keeps those two-year programs we all know and love for students who want that track, but it also opens
up some o昀昀erings for one-year programs or even semester-long programs where
students can try something career tech with less of a scheduling commitment.
Our focus remains on fostering a hands-on approach to learning and working on
real-world skills that’ll be essen琀椀al for the dynamic workforce our students will
enter. And, the curriculum is designed so students earn industry-recognized creden琀椀als, ensuring they graduate with tangible quali昀椀ca琀椀ons ready to excel in
