>> Mentor Schools o昀昀ers a mul}tude of specialized services with cer}昀椀ed
faculty members to meet the needs of all students. This includes speech
language services, occupa}onal services, physical therapist services, school
psychologist services, behavioral specialist services, guidance counselors,
special educators, and gi昀琀ed teachers.
>> The district's transporta}on department operates a 昀氀eet of school buses
and covers about 6,000 miles a day in routes and our nutri}on services department provides healthy meals for hundreds of students each day.
>> Mentor Schools o昀昀ers a state-of-theart specialized school for students with
au}sm, known as CARES (Cardinal
Au}sm Research and Educa}on School).
CARES also serves as an alterna}ve
revenue source as we are able to
provide special educa}on services for
out-of-district students.
A variety of services provide op琀椀ons to ensure all students receive individualized instruc琀椀on, enrichment and support.

LEAGUE OF INNOVATIVE SCHOOLS
>> Mentor Public Schools is a proud
and dedicated member of the
pres}gious League of Innova琀椀ve
Schools. Our district was one of the
昀椀rst selected to represent the State
of Ohio. Since then, the league has
grown into a coali}on of 150
forward-thinking school districts providing collabora}on
opportuni}es for educators to con}nue working to 昀椀nd ways
to bring new and exci}ng innova}ve instruc}onal prac}ces to
life in classrooms across the country— bene昀椀}ng millions of

STRAIGHT A FUND GRANT
>> The Straight A Fund grant was the largest grant ever earned in the
district’s history (2014) and its las}ng impact remains evident today.
The Straight A Fund grant provided funds for the following projects:
renova}ng the Mentor High School media center, now called The Hub;
building a 16,000 square foot professional development center called
Paradigm; renova}ng more than 65 Mentor High School classrooms;
and provided devices (at the }me) for all students in grades 9-12.
>> 86% of Mentor Schools’ teachers have earned a Master’s
Degree or higher as part of their con}nuing educa}on. Dozens
more are currently working toward their Master’s Degree.
>> Mentor’s IT (Informa}on and Instruc}onal Technology) Team
supports all departments to maximize the use of technology in
the district. The IT Team works in coordina}on with the Curriculum Department by integra}ng technology into the curriculum to
increase academic opportuni}es for all of our students. IT also
works closely with Student Services, Human Resources, Business
Opera}ons, the Treasurer's O昀케ce and the Transporta}on Department to make sure each sta昀昀 member and student has what they
need (whether hardware or so昀琀ware) to be successful. Below is a
glimpse of some of the hardware and so昀琀ware the IT department
is responsible for maintaining each and every day:
