Our district’s academic programs provide opportuni琀椀es for all students to reach their full poten琀椀al.
PROGRAM OF STUDIES
Mentor High School o昀昀ers more than 240 courses for students and each
of our middle schools has more than 50 courses available for students.
Elementary school curriculum is focused on the subjects of English
Language Arts (ELA), math, science, and social studies. Elementary
students are also assigned to take four related arts classes (art, physical
educa}on, music, and STEAM) as part of our commitment to providing
a well-rounded, high-quality educa}on for all.
Career Technical Educa琀椀on
High school students can apply to take one of 19 Career Tech programs o昀昀ered. Most programs are two year courses where students
gain valuable experience working in a hands-on, real-world environment in a 昀椀eld they are interested in pursuing for their professional
careers. Students can also earn college credit through our outstanding career tech courses. You can learn more about these courses later
in this report.
College Credit Plus (CCP)
Students have the opportunity to take CCP courses to earn up to 30
college credits for the year, while simultaneously earning high
school credit.
Dual Credit
Four dual credit courses are o昀昀ered to MHS students in conjunc}on
with Lakeland Community College, including two math courses and
two English courses.
Balanced Learning & 1:1 Device Ini琀椀a琀椀ve
All of our students in grades Kindergarten through grade 12 are issued a
device to use in school and at home as part of the district’s balanced
learning approach to academics. Mentor Schools provides a balanced
educa}on for students by focusing on high quality instruc}on that meets
the needs of today’s diverse learners. Our teachers work hard to create
classroom environments that foster collabora}on and cri}cal thinking
skills to set our students up for success!
Advanced Placement Courses
Mentor High School con}nues to o昀昀er a robust array of College
Board Advanced Placement courses for students to take and many
earn college credit with their high test scores.
